BEST PWC TIPS FOR BEGINNERS
With Summer well and truly here and the need for adventure being greater than ever, there’s a lot of newbies looking to get into Personal Watercraft riding, and our team here at Beaches Sea-Doo wants to make sure your journey is as smooth as possible! We’ve put together some quick tips to help those starting out their Sea-Doo life.
1. BOARD FROM THE BACK
You may want to climb on from the side, but it’s best practice to get on from the back of your Sea-Doo once it’s in the water. This prevents the PWC from flipping when all your weight is on one side. There’s a handle located directly behind the seat so that you can climb on safely. If you’re riding with a friend, make sure to do so one at a time as well!
2. ALWAYS KEEP A FINGER ON THE THROTTLE
Knowing what to do in every situation is a necessity for any rider. If you find yourself head-on and needing to turn around, your instinct may be to drop the acceleration before turning away. Sea-Doo watercrafts do have brakes so that if you find yourself in this situation, you are able to come to a complete stop. However, if you need to change direction it is important to keep accelerating as you turn. Movement is achieved through propelling jets, so slowing down won’t do you any good.
3. RIDE THE WAVE
Airborne moments on your PWC is what the Sea-Doo life is all about, but learning how to control the impact is key to enjoying them the most. When you find your jet ski lift off the water, you’re going to want to lift your body off the seat as well before you hit back down. This will minimise impact, and maximise the fun.
These are just a few of our tips for beginners to make the most out of their Sea-Doo, and we’re always just a visit or phone call away at (02) 8459 7420. During these uncertain times, we strongly urge everyone to make COVID safe choices to keep yourself and those around you safe.
